Je m'appelle Marleine Guiose Chiofalo. I am a French native. I received my baccalauréat (Lettres et Arts) in French Guiana, one of the French overseas regions.
I earned a B.A. and M.A. in foreign languages (English & Portuguese) and European law from the Université de Bordeaux III. After leaving France, I lived in England and Canada before moving to the United States. I love to share my heritage and culture with the children, and have been teaching French as a foreign language in the United States for 20 years.I joined SchoolNova at Stony Brook in 2008, where I am the foreign language lead teacher. Previously, I worked at The Laurel Hill School and in the international corporate law and banking fields. I am currently a faculty member at the Holy Child Academy. Aside from teaching French, I teach Information Technology in middle school and in elementary school. I launched and led a new Passport program in the lower school. The program promotes the discovery, understanding, and appreciation of a variety of unique cultural and ethnic heritages. I am a member of the American Association of Teachers of French (AATF) and of the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL).
I am enthusiastic about all the students who want to learn or perfect a language. It is fantastic to see so many people coming on Sunday to learn and share, and I hope to communicate my love for la Langue de Molière to all, young and adults.
Bienvenue à SchoolNova at Stony Brook!(C) SchoolNova 2005-2022
