The course will cover the following topics: thermodynamics, chemical reaction kinetics, equilibrium, and organic chemistry (including major classes of organic compounds such as alkanes, alkenes, alcohols, and carboxylic acids). Additionally, the course will explore the fascinating world of proteins and nucleic acids. Active participation in the class is strongly encouraged and considered essential for successful course completion. Prerequisites: Completion of Chemistry 1 or passing a placement test.
