  1. Math Teacher for young children - ages 4 to 8.  B.S. (math or science major) or higher is required. Prior experience working with children is highly desirable.
  2. Math Teacher for grades 4-11, ages 9-17.  M.Sc. (math or science major) equivalent or higher is required. Prior experience working with children is highly desirable.
  3. Visual Arts Teacher for grades 4-10.  Prior experience working with children is highly desirable.
  4. CS Teacher for grades 7-10.  M.Sc. equivalent or higher is required. Prior experience working with children is highly desirable.
  5. Back-end Web Developer/Database Administrator's assistant.  Responsibilities would be working with the SchoolNova database and will include: • Specialized Data Handling • Database Backup and Recovery • Security • Authentication • Performance Monitoring • Database Tuning/Troubleshooting. Knowledge of PHP and MySQL is required, and familiarity with Drupal is a plus.
  6. Coordinator of extracurricular activities.  Candidates should demonstrate a high level of interest in working with children. We will look for willingness to learn, creativity and enthusiasm. The appropriate candidate will be energetic and able to work well with others. Prior experience working with children is required. 

 

We are also looking for several parents that would be interested in helping us out throughout the year:

 

  • Assisting during the school hours - various tasks every or most Sundays.

  • An event organizer - someone who will help with organizing the first day of school, the holiday party, and the last day of school. We need 3–4 people and a tuition discount is provided.

  • Parents committee - we would like to put together a group of parents who will help SchoolNova with various extracurricular activities.

The Student Retention Committee ensures that students remain engaged and continue their education at SchoolNova is a key priority. The Student Retention Committee focuses on creating a positive and enriching learning environment that encourages students to stay with the program year after year. Tracking Retention Trends – Analyzing enrollment patterns to understand why students stay or leave and implementing strategies to improve retention. Knowledge of conducting surveys and interviews is a plus.

 

The Teacher Retention Committee: At SchoolNova, we recognize that our teachers are the heart of our educational community. Retaining talented, dedicated educators is essential for maintaining high-quality instruction and fostering a stable learning environment for our students. The Teacher Retention Committee focuses on strategies to support and motivate our teachers, ensuring they feel valued and engaged. Knowledge of conducting surveys is a plus.

 

The Fundraising Committee: Fundraising is essential for nonprofit organizations like SchoolNova to support community programs, provide resources, and enhance the overall student experience. The Fundraising Committee focuses on organizing engaging and effective fundraising initiatives to ensure the school's financial sustainability.


Types of Fundraising Activities

 

  • Annual Giving Campaigns:  Encouraging parents, alumni, and community members to make one-time or recurring donations to support SchoolNova’s mission.

  • Grant Applications & Sponsorships:  Seeking grants from foundations and businesses, as well as securing sponsorships for school events.

  • Fundraising Events:  Organizing fun and engaging events.

  • Online Fundraising & Crowdfunding:  Using platforms like GoFundMe, Facebook Fundraisers, or school-specific donation pages to reach a wider audience.

  • Matching Gift Programs:  Partnering with companies that match their employees’ donations to double the impact.

  • Community Partnerships:  Collaborating with local businesses that agree to donate a percentage of sales on designated days (e.g., “Dine & Donate” restaurant events).
