Description:
This is the fifth (5) year in the sequence of mathematical courses offered by SchoolNova. It covers the foundation of mathematical concepts for elementary school students. The students will extend their knowledge of sets, fractions, negative numbers, and constructions in geometry. The students will also be introduced to integers and their divisibility, vectors and motion, functions, and graphs. To teach students to present their solutions and points of view, we will run several math battles where students are divided into teams and compete to get the highest number of points for a given problem. Students are expected to follow up with weekly homework. If a student cannot solve a certain homework problem, they are expected to come up with a set of questions that would demonstrate an honest attempt at solving one. Students are expected to speak during the lesson, so class participation is highly encouraged.
