About me

I am a freshman math major with a linguistics minor at Stony Brook University. This is my first year as a teacher at SchoolNova, but I am far from new to the team. I have been a TA for 3 years and counting, and have been a student at SchoolNova since four and a half years old. I've completed the math, physics, and Russian courses at SN along with Earth science and some art. I am incredibly excited to now teach at the program that has inspired me to study math and helped me discover and explore my passion in life starting from childhood, through school, into college, and hopefully beyond.

I believe that children should be exposed to math early, when they can quickly pick up new ways of thinking and find fun and joy in learning and understanding. Just like any other language, math is easier to learn if you are exposed to it while you're younger. Children are often doubted, but I believe that math should be presented to them without unnecessary oversimplification; after all, they are capable of understanding way more than we often give them credit for.
