General Information:

Q: What are the ages of children you accept? A: 3 to 18 years old.

Most of our courses have restrictions on the age of students. The age range is specified for each course by the instructor.

Q: What are your hours of operation? A: The summer program will operate on both weekdays and weekends. Times of classes may vary.

Q: What is your minimum class size? A: We will not open a class with less than 5 students in it. Sizes of the classes can range between 5 and 15 students, depending on their age.

Q: Where and when are the classes held? A: Classes are held via ZOOM or Google Meet, depending on the class.

Q: What subjects do you offer? A: We offer several original mini – courses in mathematics and sciences, including physics, social science, earth science, and computer science. We also offer several levels of language classes including Russian, French, Spanish and Advanced English.

Q: How do you get admitted into the Summer 2020 SchoolNova program? A: Students interested in attending the summer program at SchoolNova must register online by visiting Registration Page Please refer to the Enrollment Page for more information.

Q: Do you allow parents to watch classes? A:Yes, however, parents may not interfere with the lesson by being disruptive or talking  while the class is in session unless they are helping their young children stay focused on the class.

Registration:

Q: When does Registration open? A:  June 3, 2020. All students will be  placed into classes on a “first-come, first-served” basis.

Q: How do I register my child for Summer 2020 at SchoolNova? A: Please follow instructions on Summer2020 Registration page: /summer2020/registration   

Q: How will I know whether my child has been enrolled in the program? A: You can check the status of your children and the classes they are registered for at any time by visiting your account profile page. In addition we will notify you by email if there is any problem with your child's registration. 

Q: What is the admission process? A: The Admission process is on a “first-come, first-served” basis. Once capacity is reached, additional applicants will be placed on a Waiting List in the order that applications were received. 

Q: Do you have a drop-out/add-on period for classes? A: The drop-out/add-on period begins on the first day of registration and ends at 11:59 pm on June 18. Full refunds will be issued when a drop-out occurs during this time

Q: How to add/drop classes? A: Adding/dropping classes can be done either online by writing comments in the student’s profile page or by sending an email to summer2020@schoolnova.org with a request. If a student drops a class during the first week of classes, there will be no refund. Teacher's permission and administration approval is required for a student to add a class after the first week. If such permission is granted, the student will be expected to pay a pro-rated tuition before joining the class. 

Q: What forms do I have to fill out? A: Financial Agreement, Consent form , and the agreement to adhere to our rules.

Q: Where can I find information about the teachers? A: Each teacher has a brief professional biography and a description of their teaching philosophy on our website here.

Tuition:

Q: How much does it cost to attend the summer program? A: Please refer to our Tuition/Discounts/Refunds page for prices.

Q: Do you have a registration fee? A: No

Q: Are there any other fees? A: No

Q: If my child is absent, do I still have to pay? A: Yes. Please refer to our Tuition/Discounts/Refunds page for more information.

 

Q: When do we have to pay tuition? A: Payments should be made by 11:59pm June 17th.

Q: What kind of payments do you accept? A: We only accept payments made through our website via PayPal.

Q: Will we get reimbursed if a class is cancelled? A: In the event that a class is cancelled at the last minute due to unforeseen circumstances, every attempt will be made to schedule a make-up or a double class. If this is not possible, we will issue a refund for the cancelled class.
