About me

I graduated from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology in 1990 with a Master's degree in physics.

I received my Ph.D. in theoretical condensed matter physics from the University of Chicago in 1997. Currently I am a Professor in the department of Physics and Astronomy at Stony Brook. I am also the Deputy Director of the Simons Center for Geometry and Physics. I am doing research in theoretical physics and teaching graduate and undergraduate classes in physics. My web page.

I have experience in teaching math and physics to high school students from the Krasnoyarsk Summer School for gifted children for over 15 years and teaching math and physics at SchoolNova since 2004.

I believe that learning math and physics is fun and that mathematical and science education is an absolutely necessary part of a general education.
