Math club for grades 5-6

This club is intended for students in grades 5-6. It has following goals:

• To strengthen basic concepts in numbers, combinatorics, fractions and geometry through interesting games and activities.
• To develop creative problem solving skills through participation in Mathematical Olympiads for Elementary and Middle Schools (MOEMS).
• To kindle enthusiasm in mathematics by introducing advanced mathematical concepts in Probability, Number Theory and Geometry such as law of large numbers, Mersenne primes, four color theorem and fractals.
• To inspire and captivate young children’s interest in mathematics by studying illuminating stories of famous mathematicians and their important discoveries.
• To immerse students in mathematics by working on an investigative project.
