Grades: 7-9

Description: The physics club for middle school students was open at SchoolNova in 2017.

The primary goals of the club are understanding the basic physics concepts and developing the problem-solving skills. Typically, the class starts with a detailed discussion of the homework problems followed by the introduction of the new material. This might include experiments that (for the in-person class) takes ~ 10-20% of the class time. I try maintaining intensive two-way communication with the students which is effective for the classes with no more than 10-11 students. Any initiative like bringing interesting questions and suggesting of a relevant topic for discussion is welcome.

We prepare students for F=ma and Physicsbowl National competitions

The club is free of charge for SN students from grades 7, 8, and 9. Each student who is enrolled in the free club must be also enrolled in the regular SN Physics class.
