Please look over your ransom notes and make the necessary edits. If you need to look through the outline that was originally assigned, please do so. I strongly suggest that. Resubmit your final draft.

Because we did not get to complete the textual analysis of "The Ransom of Red Chief" in class today, we will just continue next week. Yes, you have a break from homework.

You are all doing a great job with textual analysis! We did not complete the story yet; therefore, if you have not completed the in-text questions, please have them completed by next class. We will be finishing the story next week and we will begin discussing conflict.
-
Please finish reading “The Most Dangerous Game.” Answer all the lettered questions that correspond with the reading. Your last lettered question is R. If you were not prepared last week, please look back at last weeks assignment on the homework board and have that work completed as well.

If you are having trouble with the link, this is the homework: copy and paste this link in your browser and print out the story https://my.hrw.com/la_2010/na_lit/student/ebook_gr9/osp/data/u1_most_dangerous_se.pdf Once you have printed it out: 1. Staple all the pages together. 2. Begin reading from the title page. 3. You will answer questions (in your English notebook) as you read. The questions are on the printout. They are lettered A,B,C,etc. For example, your first question should state: A. CONFLICT Reread lines 16–21. What can you conclude about Rainsford from his conflict with Whitney? 4. Read up to line 333, “I can’t believe you are serious, General Zaroff. This is a grisly joke.” 5. I know all of you are avid readers and will want to read the entire piece and answer all the questions. PLEASE DON’T DO THAT! I ask that you follow directions and read up to line 333. We are going to complete the rest of the story as a class. 6. I will be checking your notebooks for your answers. 7. The vocabulary in this story is at an 8th-9th grade level; you can handle it. I am sure of it. There is also a word bank if you need it. 8. ENJOY!!

The only homework is to be prepared with what was due last week. Email me with any questions.
