Grades: 7-12
Prerequisites:
Material fee: $0.00

Description: Electronics is everywhere from the cell phone in your pocket to sophisticated devices for the exoplanet search and registering gravitational waves. Diodes are among the cornerstone elements of electronics. They are used in invisible emission sensors, efficient solid-state lighting, rectifiers, and many other devices and systems. Most of the semiconductor lasers are the diodes, modified in a special way. We will learn how the diodes work and how to design and build simple electronic circuits with diodes. This course is the first step towards understanding the principles and devices of electronics.
