Description: Club Mentors: Daniel Han, Anne-Sarah Nichitiu, and Marc Nichitiu. ____________________ Before the beginning of the course we will assist your child/parent in installing all the needed software. The club will meet via Zoom once a week and we will follow a Carnegie-Mellon EV3 Robotics Curriculum designed to teach online core computer programming logic and reasoning skills using a robotics engineering context. It contains a sequence of projects organized around key robotics and programming concepts. The challenges will be solved in three mini clubs (5:1 ratio of children to mentor), each led by one of our high-schoolers FLL graduates: Daniel Han, Anne-Sarah Nichitiu, and Marc Nichitiu There is no real homework attached, instead we will post the theory done and the solutions for the club challenges. We are very thankful for the support of the First Lego League of Long Island and of the FTC Team The Bears of The Stony Brook School. With the help of Mrs. Stephanie Stern, First Lego League coordinator for Long Island we acquired eight competition mats previously used in the FLL tournaments. A number of new robots and 8 more competition mats were bought with the funds raised by Anne-Sarah Nichitiu from FTC The Bears, The Stony Brook School’s upper school Robotics team. She donated the funds raised to participate in the now canceled FTC World Championships (FIRST Tech Challenge) 2020 to help promote girls and underrepresented minorities in FIRST Robotics.
