Grades: 7-10
Prerequisites:
Material fee: $0.00

Description: Python programming language is one of the most popular programming languages out there, and it is very useful for creating user-interactive and complex programs. Software such as Google, Facebook, Instagram, and Netflix, organizations such as NASA, and video games such as Battlefield 2 still use Python programming to create a framework for their products. During this workshop, students will learn the fundamentals of programming in Python language. We will start at the simplest level, learning about the foundation of data types and variables, then build our way up to apply to these datatypes to create an interactive and functional program. Using this to create a game, helpful software, or even puzzles – the possibilities are endless. We will explore some of these applications to be able to make fun programs to your imagination's extent. In this course, we will learn about datatypes and variables, loops, functions and methods, classes, and object-oriented programming -- all together we will be able to choose a project that you can apply what we learn through this course to make a fully-functional program of your choosing.
