Thank you all for your most generous support and for bringing your children back to SchoolNova year after year! For our new students, we hope you have enjoyed your first months at school. Each year, SchoolNova strives to advance its mission of providing the highest quality enrichment education to the children in our community. Through our programs, we have seen a steady growth of interest in studying mathematics and science, as well as an increasing appreciation of languages and arts.
While SchoolNova’s main activities are supported by students’ tuition, there are activities which are only partially covered by SN budget: math, physics and language competitions, cultural events, art exhibitions, graduation and transcript preparation, web page support, and more.
One of the few recently launched programs – multiple level Math and Physics Clubs - has been a great success. Our Clubs are designed to expand the curiosity in math and physics beyond our academic program and to provide an additional challenge and skills in problem solving on all levels. Our Advanced Math and Physics Clubs welcome all motivated participants, regardless of whether they are SchoolNova students or not, with the goal to inspire intellectual curiosity and to foster the love of problem solving in all children of the community. All clubs are free of charge for all participants.
Among other initiatives are:
• Junior Teaching Assistant Program, designed to provide an interactive first-hand
instructional experience to SchoolNova Alumni in all subjects as well as classroom and
grading assignments help to our teachers;
• An ambitious plan to create a unique searchable SchoolNova Digital Archive of all materials
prepared by SN teachers since 2005 and going forward;

• SchoolNova Math and Science Festivals – annual event celebrating the beauty of math and science with hands-on demos, games, puzzles and more for math and physics lovers of all ages;
• CafeNova - a monthly informal event for high school students, who consider math and/or science as future careers. HS student will meet graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, as well as faculty and visitors of Stony Brook University, BNL and SCGP. They will talk about exciting present and future research opportunities, unsolved problems in basic science, learn about scientific work going on in SBU laboratories, about life as a scientist and about any aspects of university experience.
The big event that concludes every school year is our traditional Graduation/Moving up Ceremony, recognizing our students' achievements by presenting Awards and Certificates, Graduation Diplomas and academic transcripts, combined with the Art Exhibit and student performances, followed by our annual SN Picnic which brings families of students and teachers together.
If you would like to make a donation in support of these and other initiatives, you can do so on our website www.schoolnova.org through PayPal Giving Fund by pressing the Donate button, or in person by check or cash. If you would like to contribute towards a specific event or project, please let us know! More information about donation can be found here: https://schoolnova.org/nova/helping
