Photo and Video Consent: 

Throughout the school year, SchoolNova celebrates student learning and achievements by taking photographs and videos during classes, competitions, performances, ceremonies, field trips, and other school activities. These images help us share the accomplishments of our students and promote SchoolNova’s educational programs within our community. 

With your permission, photographs and videos that include your child may be used by SchoolNova in printed and digital materials, including:

• the SchoolNova website;
• social media accounts;
• newsletters and email communications;
• brochures, promotional materials, and annual reports;
• presentations, displays, and other school publications.

From time to time, local news media or Stony Brook University representatives may also attend SchoolNova events. With your permission, your child may appear in photographs or video recordings used in news coverage or other media reports about SchoolNova activities.

Parent/Guardian Consent

By signing this form, I:

• authorize SchoolNova to photograph and/or record my child during SchoolNova classes and events;
• grant SchoolNova permission to use, reproduce, edit, and publish these photographs and video recordings for educational, informational, promotional, and archival purposes, in both print and digital formats;
• understand that no compensation will be provided for the use of these materials; and
• understand that, once photographs or videos are published by news media or other third parties, SchoolNova cannot control their further use or distribution.

SchoolNova will never sell photographs of students or knowingly use a student’s image in a manner that is misleading, inappropriate, or unrelated to SchoolNova’s educational mission.

If You Do Not Grant Permission

Granting permission is voluntary. If you prefer that your child not be photographed or recorded for the purposes described above, please complete the Photo and Video Opt-Out Form and return it to the School Principal or email it to director@schoolnova.org.

We will make every reasonable effort to honor your request. However, we cannot guarantee that your child will not appear incidentally in wide-angle photographs or video recordings taken during public school events or by members of the media.
