How are they similar and/or how are they different? There is a lot of room in this essay prompt to create an argument. You are free to talk about their behaviors, their emotions, how they process their actions, etc. Use this freedom to create a solid thesis statement. Remember, a thesis statement must be arguable.

  Please write an outline of your writing competition submission. If you are writing poetry, jot down ideas, words, stanza topics, etc. If you are submitting to short story, flash fiction, or any other prose genre, have a detailed outline of your story. You will be writing in class. Some of you are coming to class without your homework. This is not acceptable. This week I expect all of you to have your homework.

  TYPE a draft of your Scholastic Arts and Writing submission. I often say this, but I will say it again...DO NOT come to class without your typed draft. We have a week off of school, you have 2 weeks to complete this, and you worked on it in class last week. No excuses! Happy Thanksgiving!!
